REYES & STEEL: “All Write You Scumbags”

Last Friday night, the ever-grinding Klughaus Gallery in the LES opened their latest show “All Write You Scumbags” featuring fresh works from Mad Society King compatriots Victor Reyes and Steel. The show marked the first time the accomplished SF-based artists have shown their work here in NYC and no venue more appropriate than Klughaus for their respective debuts.
More commonly known for their adept work in the streets, Reyes’ fluid style of swirling psychadelia and Steel’s tongue-in-cheek burger-centric humor made for a loose and enjoyable gallery experience, increasingly difficult to find in the stuffy NYC scene. As has become Klughaus tradition, the two artists both left their mark outside the gallery as well. For more info on the show, you can peep the full press release HERE. You can also read up on our coverage of last month’s Lush “Shitty Drawings in New York City” opening at the gallery as well.
“These new works are painted and illustrated as a reveal to the contemporary ideas surrounding graffiti and its application within the conversation of fine art” – Victor Reyes
“Fuck ‘em if they can’t take a joke”- STEEL MSK.
Look out for fellow MSK affiliate Rime blessing the gallery with a solo exhibition later in the year.

“All Write You Scumbags” featuring new works by Victor Reyes and STEEL MSK runs thru September 29th at Klughaus Gallery, 47 Monroe St. LES
